I’ve just spent a great hour or so visiting a new place which is a fantastic seasonal photo location – Mayfield Lavender in Carshalton/Banstead, Surrey, just half an hour from central London.
The lavender here is in full bloom in June and July, and one of the varieties grown at Mayfield (Lavandula Angustifolia Folgate) is exploding with colour and scent at the moment. There seem to be two other varieties grown here, but these have yet to reach their peak.
Sadly the light is extremely variable, and the rain frequent, at the moment but I’ll be returning to Mayfield soon to see if I can catch some better light.
